VMA Council

The way we work

The VMA is a company limited by guarantee, with a governing Council (Directors) consisting of 10 Active members and 2 Allied non-executive members who are elected by the membership in advance of the Annual General Meeting held in conjunction with the VMA Congress. Councillors serve for a two-year term and may nominate for re-election if they wish. The incoming Council each year elects from within its own ranks the statutory positions of President, Vice President, Company Secretary and Treasurer and appoints a number of sub-committees, including the Executive Management Committee comprising six members including the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer; and two other Active Councillors; the Management Committee of the VMS; the SIRIUS achievement program committee and other committees as required.
