Operations Manager – Performing Arts Unit

Salary: $75,649 P/A + Super

Contract – 12 months.

The Performing Arts Unit is responsible for the ongoing development of Live Arts, as well as providing high quality venues for a diverse range of Council, commercial, private and community functions within Willoughby City.

The Performing Arts Unit consists of the following areas of management:

  • The Zenith Theatre and Convention Centre;
  • The Joe Ciantar Music Rehearsal Studio;
  • The Willoughby Symphony Orchestra and Choir (WSOC);
  • Contractual management of The Concourse and
  • The Community Storage space.

Reporting to the Head of Performing Arts, you will be responsible for the day to day management of the Unit, leadership of the staff and the attainment of financial goals and business objectives.

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Arts/Venue Management or a related field.
  • Experience in managing the technical aspects of a venue
  • A demonstrated understanding of Front of House operations including kiosk and bar management
  • Experience in Orchestral/Choral/Music management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer engagement and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with Work Health and Safety issues in a performing arts environment
  • Demonstrated experience in administration including financial management and reporting
  • Proven ability to supervise and motivate staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to use a wide range of computer applications.
