VMA Venue Management Association

Criteria

What area of VMA membership applies to ME?

NOTE: Membership to the VMA is personal, not corporate. Membership is NOT transferable between employees and remains with the individual member if their employment should change. The decision for employers to pay an individual's VMA membership, does not in any way change the personal and individual status of VMA membership.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

ACTIVE

Active membership is open to individuals employed at any level of operations in a public assembly venue, whether it is publicly or privately owned. Such venues may include amphitheatres, arenas and stadiums, theatres and performing arts centres, sport and leisure facilities, convention and exhibition centres, showgrounds, racecourses, or halls and function centres. Active members may nominate for election to the Council and hold office in the Association.

ALLIED

Individuals who by reason of their professional capacity, and by reason of their association, knowledge and professional interest in the public venue management industry and/or who may provide goods and services to public assembly venues are eligible for Allied membership. Allied members may nominate for election to the Council but do not hold office in the Association.

NOTE: For Allied members only, a "corporate" package of flexible entitlements including advertising benefits can be arranged. This package is NOT membership. For details on corporate packages, email: admin@vma.org.au

STUDENT

Student membership is available to persons who are currently studying a venue industry related course at tertiary level at a recognised college, university, TAFE or other educational institution, but are not actively working in a full-time position within the Active or Allied membership classifications. Election to Council or holding Association office does not apply to Student membership.
